Responsibilities
- Supports the physical layout of assigned properties.
- Works within capital expenditures budget to support Branch service levels.
- Manages identified safety related projects and programs.
- Makes logistics and safety recommendations and provides fleet management across assigned locations.
- Serves as the point of contact for facilities, equipment, and fleet related requests.
- Supports the Regional, Market, and Branch Managers in defining and fulfilling business plans and objectives.
- Participates in the development of annual operating and capital expenditure budgets.
- Manages equipment needs, including partnering with vendors for proper rotation and maintenance of equipment.
- Analyzes, reports on, and proposes strategies to improve process and procedures related to facilities and logistics.
- Collaborates with other departments, JST, and branch personnel to devise consistent practices for superior customer experience and financial goals.
- Provides fleet management support and administration across all locations, including managing fleet related lease, fuel, maintenance, insurance, and rental programs.
- Ensures compliance with Department of Transportation, Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, interstate commerce, and other regulatory requirements.
- Implements, trains, and monitors safety protocols, good housekeeping standards, appropriate sanitation, and security of facilities.
- Participates in onboarding of new employees companywide and may lead safety related trainings or initiatives.
- Supports logistics, distribution, and facility related initiatives by participating in relocation of warehouses, facility closures, and new branch openings.
- Performs research, monitors benchmarks, establishes KPIs, collects and analyzes data, and prepares reports.
Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of logistics, supply chain operations, and strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, flow patterns, and freight.
- Knowledge of financial operations, including costs of operation, return on investment, and budgets.
- Knowledge of governmental regulations as applied to warehouse operations, including OSHA regulations, Workers’ Compensation, Hazardous Materials Handling.
- Knowledge of transportation methods and DOT requirements.
- Ability to train diverse personnel and motivate positive work behaviors.
- Project management skills, including establishing objectives, timelines, and deadlines; action planning to meet deadlines, etc.
- Problem-solving skills, including active listening, interpreting, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to develop and train efficient work procedures.
