Duties

Conducts comprehensive, multi-variable cost analyses of sustainment capabilities—including IT infrastructure, training, facilities, and contractor support.

Acts as the final technical authority on the validity of the mathematical models, statistical processes, and Al-enabled tools used for assigned portfolio areas.

Evaluates joint cyberspace operations and capabilities, driving data-informed resource allocation decisions despite conflicting data, shifting geopolitical requirements, or extreme uncertainty in the joint operational environment.

Empowers senior command leadership (General/Flag Officers and Senior Executive Service members) with actionable insights required for rapid, strategic, and enterprise-level decision-making.

Transforms complex financial, manpower, training, and operational data into intuitive visualizations, establishing new analytical standards that communicate critical assessments.

Solves unprecedented resource allocation challenges across the organization and its subordinate elements by developing new methodologies to measure cost-effectiveness and operational impact/risk.

Requirements

Conditions of employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Three year trial/probationary period may be required.

The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET SCI clearance as a condition of employment and must complete a counterintelligence scope polygraph exam.

This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.

The incumbent must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy 5-1.

Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft up to 10% of the time.

The incumbent may be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement for Operation Research Analyst: Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in operations research; or a degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

  • To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled.
  • Specialized experience would be demonstrated by utilizing analytical models to estimate manpower or funding resources; applying new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make improvements to systems; creating visual diagrams/reports to communicate operational data or training.
