Operations Quality Assurance Sr Specialist - Home Loans

About the role

Golden 1 Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative committed to empowering members and uplifting communities. This role is within the Operations Planning and Governance department.

Responsibilities

• Implement new quality assurance evaluations and lead departmental projects
• Communicate project scope, milestones, risks, and deliverables
• Conduct Check-the-Checker assessments
• Review statistical samples of accounts, calls, transactions, and processes
• Maintain regulatory compliance and strengthen internal controls
• Support modernization and digital transformation efforts
• Manage defect research and reporting
• Lead new-hire onboarding and facilitate training sessions
• Provide peer-to-peer feedback and develop quality assurance resources
• Participate in meetings and company events

Qualifications and Preferences

• Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, or equivalent work experience in a related field
• 6+ years experience in Quality Assurance, Mortgage Operations, Audit, Risk or Compliance within a financial institution
• 3+ years of direct Home Loans/Mortgage experience (origination, processing, underwriting, post-closing, or QA review)
• Demonstrated experience performing complex QA reviews and second-level validations
• Proven track record of identifying control gaps, regulatory risk, and systemic issues
• Experience leading QA initiatives, projects, or governance routines
