Operations Program Manager
Location: Chantilly, Virginia (onsite)

About the role
Trident Systems Space Electronic Systems (SES) division seeks an Operations Program Manager to lead day-to-day Operations execution of activities that support Space Electronic Systems. This position reports directly to the Trident Operations Director in Chantilly and Sterling, VA. The role will lead and coordinate cross-functional programs within the manufacturing operations department, requiring a strong leader who can manage multiple projects, drive process improvements, and ensure that all operational goals are met efficiently and effectively. The Operations Program Manager will work closely with production, supply chain, quality assurance, and engineering teams to align activities with business objectives and deliver high-quality results on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and oversee multiple operational programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and timely delivery of objectives
- Facilitate communication and coordination between departments, including production, supply chain, quality, and engineering, to ensure seamless program execution
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of programs; provide regular reports and updates to senior management on program status, risks, and outcomes
- Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to meet program objectives; ensure that teams are properly staffed and supported to deliver results
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the successful completion of programs; address any issues that arise during program execution
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring that expectations are met and that all parties are informed of program progress
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring that all financial targets are met and resources are used efficiently
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality; utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies as appropriate
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the operations department; lead initiatives to optimize processes and enhance operational performance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
- 9+ years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree OR 7+ years with a graduate degree
- Experience in engineering, operations, program management, or a related field within a design or manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in managing complex, cross-functional projects
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities
- Proficiency in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- Familiarity with Space Flight products, ERP systems, project management software, and data analysis tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in any Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field or an MBA
- Certifications: PMP, Lean Six Sigma certification, or equivalent
Pay
Full-Time Salary Range: $112,000 - $207,000. Actual compensation offered will be determined based on relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, internal equity, business considerations, and geographic location where applicable.
