About the role

The Operations Manager Trainee (OMT) role at Arsenal Modern Dentistry is designed to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to independently manage a financially viable PDS supported dental office. The role involves gaining an understanding of operational management principles and best practices, and is expected to lead a team of both front and back office staff within 4-6 months.

Responsibilities

  • Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices
  • Engage in comprehensive training, supervision, counseling, and coaching of team members
  • Assess, investigate, and resolve staff and patient issues
  • Execute the PDS Operational Model to meet office imperatives
  • Drive year-over-year revenue and profit growth
  • Manage expenses to achieve monthly goals and budget
  • Show proficiency and adherence to cash management and accounting protocols
  • Deliver effective leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory bodies
  • Implement an office success plan during manager absences
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five or more years of related work experience in operational management
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance (or reliable alternate transportation)
  • Experience leading a team, mentoring, and coaching subordinates
  • Knowledge of Dental Plans, insurances fees, administrative guidelines, limitations, and exclusions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Applications, Epic, 1VU, BOX, and standard office equipment
  • Ability to multitask effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects with limited direction
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from patients, team members, regulatory agencies, vendors, or other members of the business community
  • Ability to draw valid conclusions, apply sound judgment, and make decisions under pressure
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility for tasks assigned

  • Flexibility in adapting processes to meet unique needs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree
  • Five or more years of experience leading a team, mentoring, and coaching subordinates
  • Knowledge of financial acumen, including profit drivers, utilizing metrics to manage, building the financial understanding of staff and clinicians, and understanding local market drivers and competition
  • Ability to influence and build trust with those requiring coaching, creating a win-win need for change, tailoring coaching style to individual needs, recognizing and celebrating improvement to sustain change

Compensation

$30.50 - $40.00 / Hourly

Pay

This role will be a salaried position upon completion of the Operations Manager training program.

Schedule

The work schedule is flexible and may vary depending on the needs of the office and the individual's role.
