Operations Manager-Global Settlements

What You'll Be Doing
- Provide full oversight, strategic direction, and day-to-day leadership of associates responsible for international equity and fixed-income transaction settlement.
- Ensure associates meet service level expectations and follow departmental procedures by overseeing the timely resolution of settlement exceptions, trade breaks, and fails.
- Oversee the maintenance of department policies and procedures, streamline processes, and improve operational efficiency.

- Utilize available tools and metrics to help associates improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Collaborate with operations leadership on department decision making.
- Maintain an understanding of the work being completed by associates and the status of various projects.
- Maintain appropriate tracking of all departmental responsibilities and supervisory procedures.
- Ensure all workflow enhancements are appropriately tested prior to release.
- Ensure all internal and external audit requests for data are delivered in a timely manner.
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of international equity and fixed-income settlement practices, including market-specific rules, timelines, and settlement cycles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex settlement exceptions.
- Familiarity with global regulatory requirements such as CSDR, local market regulations, and industry best practices for international settlements.
- Ability to make sound and timely decisions.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills to effectively handle multiple demands while meeting deadlines.
- Able to allocate workload and adjust priorities to meet the demand for the department.
- Ability to adapt to changes in functionality, technology, or regulatory policies when necessary.
- Excellent relationship building skills.
- Strong team leadership skills to acquire, coach, develop and retain talent.
Education & Experience
- Minimum Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, or 8+ years of Stifel Experience.
- Minimum Required: 8+ years of industry experience.
- Minimum Required: FINRA Series 99 or Series 7, or the ability to obtain Series 99 within 12 months upon hire.
Systems & Technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with (or ability to learn) SQL to support data analysis, exception research, and operational reporting.
