Operations Manager
This position supports the Operations team at I.Rice as an Operations Manager for all production areas. Experience in food manufacturing setting is essential to this position. This is a full-time position with daytime hours, primarily Monday through Friday.
- Understands the proper operations of kettle and filling equipment to produce product within guidelines established by the Operations and Quality Control teams and to the highest possible standard of quality
- Understands the proper handling of ingredients, packaging and other goods
- Understands the proper handling related to processing, including temperature monitoring, cook times, and filling packaging
- Awareness of the daily production schedule as assigned
- Manages and supervises temporary staffing to ensure attendance and position in the organization
- Oversee and implement training of temporary and new employees on GMPs and company guidelines
- Makes sure floor staff adhere to assignments and commitment to food safety and quality
- Inspects quality and consistency of finished product and alerts Operations and Quality Control teams of any concerns
- Additional tasks as they may be assigned
Skills and Experience
This individual must have fundamental knowledge of the duties and equipment described above. Training provided as needed. Key skills and expectations as follows:

Requirements
- Educational requirement: High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred but not required
- Experience requirement: Previous experience (2-5 years minimum) in a manufacturing facility required
- Experience managing and supervising staff within department
- Ability to conduct basic math functions
- Must have mechanical ability to make minor adjustments
- Must operate Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Must follow all safety rules and protocols
- Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime and weekend hours
- Be able to lift 50 pounds
- Be able to withstand long periods of time on one's feet
