Operations Engineering Co-op/Intern – Spring 2027

About the role

As an Operations Engineering Co-op/Intern, you will provide technical support primarily to plant operations groups from troubleshooting complex systems to optimizing production processes. Term: January 11 to April 23, 2027. Full-time Co-Op/Internship, typically 36-40 hours a week on site. 9/80 schedule if applicable.

Location: Riverview Manufacturing Facility, 8813 US Highways 41 South, Riverview, FL. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve root causes of issues in sulfuric processing and production systems.
• Improve the efficiency of converter systems, water treatment, and overall sulfuric acid plant systems.
• Evaluate and enhance the performance of unit operations in the Sulfuric Acid department.
• Observe work during a turnaround outage and participate in equipment inspections.
• Participate in the development and implementation of digital tools for operations.
• Perform duties as assigned.
• Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), maintenance, automation, lab personnel, and contractors.
• Participate in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
• Adhere to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

Requirements

• Junior level or higher by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 2.75 GPA or higher.
• 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
• Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license—you will need to travel to and from sites and/or office.
• Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship.
• Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity examination.

Skills

• Basic computer skills.

• Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable.
