About the role
The Operations & Automation Engineering Co-op/Intern position at Mosaic Company provides hands-on experience in supporting plant operations and automated control systems. This full-time term starts on January 11th, 2027 and ends on April 23rd, 2027.
Responsibilities
- Support plant operations by troubleshooting systems and identifying root causes of process issues
- Aid in optimizing production processes and improving efficiency across plant systems
- Gain exposure to automation tools such as PLC, DCS, and HMI/SCADA systems
- Analyze and improve process controls, including control loops and system performance
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams on projects and system improvements
- Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers, tradespersons, and contractors
- Participate in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment
- Adhere to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles, and priorities, and key competencies
Requirements
- Junior level or above by January 2027, pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical Engineering
- 2.75 GPA or higher
- Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
- 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred
- Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office
- Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
Qualifications
- Basic computer skills are required
- Experience working in a team environment is a must
- Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
- Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
