Located in Providence, Rhode Island, and a member of the Ivy League, our intercollegiate athletics program consists of 38 varsity teams with approximately 1,000 athletes who participate within the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA-DI).
About the role
The Wrestling Operations Coordinator reports to the Wrestling Head Coach and is responsible for the organization of the day-to-day efficient operation of the Brown Wrestling program. Assists the Head Coach in all phases of planning, developing, and promoting a championship caliber Ivy League program.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate multiple tasks independently to support program operations.
- Assist with planning and organizing team travel.
- Maintain compliance with all University, NCAA, and Ivy League policies and regulations.
- Interact positively with student-athletes, parents, alumni, colleagues, and the public.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to the welfare of student-athletes.
- Utilize strong analytical and presentation skills to engage with diverse individuals from University and community constituencies.
- Report any rules violations to the compliance office.
- Complete annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting (for coaching positions).
- Maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification (provided at no cost through the Division).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 1-2 years of related experience in NCAA wrestling (collegiate playing, coaching, or operations); Division I experience preferred.
- High attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (verbal & written) skills.
- Basic proficiency in Excel, Word, internet, and email capabilities.
- Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to comply with, NCAA, Ivy League, and University rules and regulations.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, education verification, and DMV check satisfactory to Brown University.
Preferred Qualifications
- Business background.
- Experience with video editing software.
- Social media experience.
- Established history of quality relationships with staff, coaches, student-athletes, alumni, and parents.
