Operations Coordinator - Pittsburgh, PA
Job Summary
The Operations Coordinator creates and implements high-risk intramural, club, fitness, and recreation programs. They also create and implement facilities operations plans, develop policies and procedures, and manage marketing and social media outreach.
Essential Functions
- Lead the daily operations of the Recreation and Wellness Center, ensuring safe, efficient, and consistent facility operations while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and develop a team of 100+ student employees, fostering leadership, accountability, and professional growth through meaningful employment experiences.
- Cook up daily staffing, building readiness, and operational logistics, maintaining facility presentation, equipment readiness, and seamless operations across all hours of operation.
- Implement and uphold departmental policies, risk management practices, and emergency response procedures, promoting a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Monitor operational performance through quality assurance initiatives, facility audits, and assessment efforts, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Collaborate with Campus Recreation professional staff and campus partners to support programs, special events, technology systems, and strategic initiatives that advance the department's mission and enhance the recreation experience.
Physical Effort
- Requires a combination of administrative office work and active engagement within high-use recreation facilities.
- Regular mobility throughout indoor and outdoor facilities and across campus is required, including frequent walking between work locations.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of heavier items.
- Position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as operational needs dictate.
