Operations Associate

About the role

A leading alternative investment management firm with $1.6 billion in assets under management is seeking an Operations Associate to enhance its operational framework and support trading activities across global markets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive operational and control framework across business functions.
• Support daily trading activities and ensure smooth, accurate, and timely operational processes.
• Manage day-to-day trading operations, overseeing the full trade lifecycle from execution through settlement.
• Monitor investment positions, including corporate actions, cash flows, and settlements.
• Coordinate with external service providers, including prime brokers and fund administrators.
• Assist Finance with operational processes related to month-end to ensure accuracy and strong controls.
• Participate in treasury and cash management, including liquidity monitoring and cash forecasting.
• Identify operational issues and work with stakeholders to develop solutions.
• Improve and document processes, controls, workflows, and reporting.
• Take ownership of a broad range of operational and business needs.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in operations, fund accounting, or middle office within a financial institution.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of the trade lifecycle and experience with financial products.
• Strong Excel skills; experience with VBA, SQL, or other data tools is a plus.
• Experience with financial systems, trading platforms, or portfolio management systems is helpful.

Pay

• Salary: $120 – $150k
• Plus Bonus
