About the role
The Bilingual (Spanish) Operations Assistant will assist in all aspects of purchasing and inventory for a HDPE extruded plastics products factory.
Responsibilities
- Enter production reports, purchasing for stock and non-stock items, perform and enter cycle counts, and handle shipping and receiving functions.
- Collect, enter, and reconcile materials produced and used daily.
- Provide purchase orders to vendors for stock and non-stock items and schedule deliveries.
- Receive purchase orders and ensure items arrive.
- Interact and develop good working relationships with vendors.
- Monitor safety stocks of materials used.
- Manage and update the list of vendors.
- Provide backup to Parts Crib Attendant functions:
- Order and receive parts.
- Provide backup to Material Handler functions:
- Pump resin from rail car to silos.
- Ensure rail cars are ready to be delivered back to the manufacturer.
- Provide backup to Production Packaging Associates (PPA) functions:
- Grind bottles.
- Pack bottles.
- Operate palletizer, robot, and bagger.
- Operate within JDE inventory system, database, and Excel spreadsheets.
- Manage Safety Department with training, SOS requirements, AIC System, and Safety Committee meetings.
- Maintain training matrix for the plant.
Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Basic mathematical skills.
- One to three years of experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on background in purchasing and inventory.
- Bilingual: English and Spanish (write, read, and speak).
Pay
Targeted pay rate: $25.00 per hour
