Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Execute and monitor AI-driven seed sorting machines to process, analyze, and grade seed and grain batches
- Data Collection: Conduct precise phenotyping assessments using Seed-X's proprietary mobile software
- Data Management: Process, clean, and structure phenotypical data to support ongoing AI training and algorithm development
- Order Administration: Oversee the administrative pipeline for new customer orders, ensuring accurate data entry, thorough documentation, and seamless internal coordination
- Territory Growth: Develop and execute a localized sales strategy to introduce Seed-X's AI-powered solutions to major seed companies and vegetable breeders in the region
- Lead Generation: Proactively identify, target, and pitch new business opportunities to generate revenue and expand our market footprint
- Marketing Initiatives: Support and drive local marketing campaigns, ensuring initiatives are effectively executed, tracked, and optimized for lead generation
- Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of regional market trends, competitor activity, and agricultural shifts to identify new business opportunities
Requirements
- Location: Must be based in (or able to easily commute across) the Davis, Salinas, or Sacramento, CA regions
- Mindset: A positive, proactive, and highly responsible attitude with a strong willingness to learn complex technical workflows
- Industry Expertise (Strong Plus): Direct exposure to or experience within the vegetable seed industry (e.g., seed sales, crop protection, breeding support) or the broader AgTech sector is a significant advantage
- Technology Savviness: Comfortable working with new software and AI data tools; ability to conceptually understand and pitch a highly technical, data-driven product rather than a traditional agricultural commodity
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the confidence to interface directly with growers, plant breeders, and corporate stakeholders
