Operations Analyst (contract)
About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations Analyst to support cash reconciliation, settlement reporting, and client servicing functions within a financial operations environment. This role focuses on DDA reconciliations, wire activity review, and reporting across custodial banking and fund accounting partners. Based fully onsite in Westborough, MA, this position offers hands-on exposure to financial operations, routine-driven workflows, and emerging AI-enabled process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily DDA reconciliations, research discrepancies, and ensure accuracy of cash positions
- Prepare and distribute settlement reports to custodial banks and fund accounting teams, ensuring completeness and timeliness
- Monitor and validate incoming and outgoing wire transactions, confirming accuracy and proper settlement activity
- Investigate and resolve breaks related to cash activity, settlements, and reporting discrepancies
- Monitor team inbox and respond to client inquiries as proficiency grows (via email, occasional follow-ups)
- Review reports with attention to detail, identify trends, and ensure data integrity across systems
- Follow structured daily routines while maintaining accuracy under strict deadlines
- Leverage AI tools and automation platforms (e.g., Alteryx) to streamline repetitive processes and improve efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant internship experience (Finance, Business, or related field preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with data and reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and ask thoughtful questions
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow structured processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness to learn and utilize AI tools for data analysis and task automation
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or early experience in financial services or operations
- Exposure to reconciliations, cash operations, or settlements
- Familiarity with automation tools such as Alteryx
- Interest or exposure to AI tools and prompting for workflow efficiency
- Understanding of basic financial concepts or reporting processes
