About the Role
The Operational Program Director (OPD) will provide leadership and coordination for programs serving persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities (ID/DD), mental health diagnoses, medical needs, and/or autism spectrum disorders. This position blends direct care and supervisory duties.
Responsibilities
- Oversee overall program operations for individuals with ID, DD, mental health diagnoses, medical needs, and/or autism spectrum disorders
- Perform a mix of direct care and supervisory duties
- Serve as on-call support for staff and coordinators within 4-5 programs (Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm)
- Participate in an on-call rotation for approximately 15-30 sites (Friday 5pm–Monday 8am, every 3-6 weeks, including some holidays)
- Complete personal cares, including lifting and transferring individuals served
- Transport persons served in the community
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (typical business hours)
- On-call responsibilities from 8am Monday to 5pm Friday for program support
- On-call rotation every 3-6 weeks (Friday 5pm–Monday 8am) for approximately 15-30 sites
- Some holidays included in on-call rotation (shared equally among the group)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field preferred
- Designated Manager status per Minnesota 245D licensing requirements (245D.081)
- Three years’ experience supervising staff in the human services field (per 245D Designated Manager qualifications)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record (per Dungarvin policy)
- Valid liability vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
- Ability to perform personal cares, lift, and transfer individuals
- Strong decision-making, time management, and communication skills
- Responsible, flexible, and adaptable
- Minimum age: 18 years (some programs require 21+ per MN foster care licensing for children’s programs)
