The Role

The Job At-A-Glance:

We are looking for an Operations Specialist to join the Arete Res leadership team. Reporting to the President/COO, this position will be responsible for assisting in various operational functions, projects, and platform management for our portfolio of properties. The position will require approximately 25% of travel throughout our portfolio.

Scope of Duties

  • Assisting in the development and distribution of property operations resources
  • Implementing the property’s strategic marketing plan
  • Aiding in leasing efforts and strategy for marketing implementation
  • Affirming property management software is accurate, up to date at all times, and being utilized to its fullest functionality
  • Aiding the Regional Vice President and Regional Managers in building a team of highly motivated, skilled, and productive individuals who work well with others
  • Maintaining professional quality of management, communication, and reporting
  • Providing first-class customer service to prospects and residents
  • Ensuring that all resident requests are handled promptly and professionally
  • Creating a professional and friendly office environment
  • Performing lease processing and administration, and other administrative duties as needed
  • Serving as an Arete Res Culture Ambassador
  • Assisting with the development of the company’s core strategic plan
  • Filling on for various open positions as needed for properties within the portfolio
  • Performing other job duties as requested by Supervisor

  • A Bachelor’s degree, or 35 years’ experience in student housing with supervisory role/higher management; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a dynamic team, while having a customer-centric mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset—you’re creative and will challenge the status quo to meet the needs of our residents and our company.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization and analytical skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Resman software.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize work.
