About the role
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Unit Operating Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to lead sourcing and supply chain initiatives for the Grid Components business area.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that improve cost, quality, delivery performance, and supply continuity.
- Lead strategic sourcing activities, supplier negotiations, RFQs, and spend management initiatives.
- Drive local strategic sourcing activities and spend management initiatives.
- Drive material cost optimization, cost avoidance, and margin improvement programs.
- Partner with planning, manufacturing, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure material availability and operational excellence.
- Monitor supplier performance and lead escalation management, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support tendering and sales order execution by managing pricing, terms and conditions, and material cost controls.
- Lead supply chain activities related to new product introductions, technology transfers, and Design-to-Value initiatives.
- Develop, coach, and support team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, planning, or supply chain roles within industrial manufacturing environments.
- At least 3 years of people leadership experience with demonstrated success managing and developing teams.
- Strong analytical skills with experience translating data into strategic business and sourcing decisions.
- Experience with SAP, Power BI, Microsoft Office, and supply chain management tools; SAP Ariba experience is an advantage.
- Fluency in English with excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills; willingness to travel up to 20%.
