Operating Partner: Capital Formation
About the role
This is not a traditional operating role. It is a partner-level seat for someone who wants real ownership in building one of the leading AI venture platforms in New York and beyond. We are looking for a deeply connected operator, investor, or executive who will work capital formation and high-value partnerships in parallel — bringing capital in and putting the relationships around it to work for C10 and its portfolio companies.
Responsibilities
- Source and cultivate prospective Limited Partner relationships.
- Generate qualified introductions to family offices, institutional investors, fund-of-funds, corporate venture investors, and strategic capital partners.
- Support fundraising through investor engagement, relationship development, and meeting facilitation.
- Participate in LP meetings, diligence conversations, and fundraising activities.
- Expand and strengthen the C10 investor base in New York City and nationally.
- Build relationships with angels, venture firms, family offices, emerging managers, and industry leaders.
- Made strategic introductions between investors, corporates, founders, and portfolio companies.
- Represent C10 Labs at venture, startup, and technology events, and create durable engagement over time.
- Contribute to broader platform and ecosystem-development efforts.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the leadership team.
Requirements
- Experience in venture capital, fundraising, investor relations, business development, private markets, or strategic partnerships.
- A track record of building and closing corporate or strategic partnerships.
- A strong network across investors, corporates, founders, and operators.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- An entrepreneurial, self-directed work style.
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a founder, venture partner, or corporate development leader.
- Experience supporting venture fundraising or capital formation.
- Existing relationships with LPs, family offices, corporate venture arms, or strategic partners.
- A real interest in AI, deep technology, and venture creation.
Skills
- Natural connector who builds relationships that last.
- Credible inside investor and startup communities.
- Someone who enjoys opening doors and creating opportunities for others.
- A long-term thinker, motivated by ownership rather than transactions.
- Equally comfortable with investors and corporate counterparties.
Benefits
- Direct access to leading founders, investors, operators, and corporate partners.
- A hand in shaping Fund II and future investment vehicles.
- The chance to build one of the most connected AI venture platforms in New York City.
- A direct role in backing the next generation of AI companies.
Pay
Compensation is built around carried interest and management-company participation - partner economics that reward the long-term success of the fund and the platform, not any single transaction. As a partner, your stake is sized to reflect your contribution, network, and involvement, and vests over time.
Schedule
An engagement: a part-time commitment of roughly 5–10 hours per week.
