Open Rank Pediatric Oncologist
About the role
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking individuals with clinical and research interests in childhood cancer for an open rank faculty position in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Preference will be given to candidates with neuro-oncology and solid tumor interests and experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient and outpatient care for pediatric patients with cancer.
- Participate in clinical trials and research studies related to childhood cancer.
- Teach fellows, residents, and medical students in a children's hospital and comprehensive cancer center setting.
- Board eligibility or certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology is required.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill offers an exceptionally collaborative environment with a strong clinical program in both hematology and oncology. The division is affiliated with strong basic and translational research programs across the School of Medicine, including in the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, the UNC Blood Research Center, the UNC Children’s Research Institute, and the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy. The Division currently includes 18 physicians and 13 nurse practitioners. Divisional interests include solid tumors, neuro-oncology, childhood cancer survivorship, stem cell transplantation, CAR-T cell therapies, sickle cell anemia, thrombosis, and hemostasis.
