About the role

The Department of Pediatrics, Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia is actively seeking a faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, as a board certified/board eligible full-time Pediatric Hematology/Oncology physician to join our faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, comprehensive care in pediatric hematology/oncology in an effort to improve quality, safety and patient satisfaction.
  • Become increasingly productive through the provision of clinical services in pediatric hematology/oncology.
  • Participate in assigned clinical duties that include, but are not limited to: Inpatient services, outpatient services in the ambulatory care clinic and associated satellite clinics, and night/weekend/holiday on-call.
  • Maintain and meet all metrics associated with Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE).
  • Promote good professional relationships and build referral patterns with Augusta University physicians and physicians outside of Augusta University (referring physicians in community, region and state).
  • Provide prompt feedback to referring physicians.
  • Provide education and training to residents, medical students and staff in pediatric hematology/oncology which includes but is not limited to: clinical supervision, consultation and didactics.

Requirements

  • MD/DO or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • Medical license in the state of Georgia, DEA, and CPR certification.
  • Proven history of excellent clinical skills, involvement with clinical research, and strong desire to be involved with resident teaching.

Qualifications

  • Assistant Professor- Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.
  • Associate Professor- Mid level career faculty member with at least five years at rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
  • Professor- Senior level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.

Skills

  • Excellent clinical skills.
  • Involvement with clinical research.
  • Strong desire to be involved with resident teaching.

Pay

Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

Schedule

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
