About the role

The Division of Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin seeks candidates for a hybrid Oncologic Hospitalist/Nocturnist faculty position. Rank for this position is open.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24-hour-a-day inpatient care to solid tumor oncology patients or to patients requiring management of malignancies of the hematopoietic system.
  • Admit approximately 1,500 patients per year to the Oncologic Hospitalist Service.
  • Collaborate with hematology and oncology providers in the Division of Hematology and Oncology.
  • Work in a hybrid model involving collaborative care provided by both hospitalists and oncology faculty.
  • Manage the day-to-day care of patients with oncologists providing the necessary oncologic expertise.
  • Work alongside a team of dedicated and expertly-trained advanced practice providers, fellows, and housestaff.
  • Involvement in teaching students and housestaff.
  • Opportunity for participation in Division research programs, including clinical trials.

Requirements

  • Excellent clinical skills.
  • Board certified/board eligible in internal medicine.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.
  • Current medical license to practice medicine in the state of Wisconsin.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems.
