Principal Functional Responsibilities

  • Active participation in the Program Advisory Committee.
  • Aid in recruiting clinical sites for the program and maintain regular communication with all involved entities.
  • Advocate for the NEOMED Program and the Certified Mental Health Assistant profession to local and regional hospitals and health professions organizations.
  • Aid in recruiting and interviewing program faculty and students.
  • Aid in collecting and reporting metrics necessary for maintaining accreditation.
  • Represent the program at professional and organizational events.
  • Support recruiting efforts by the Director of Admissions as needed.

Teaching and Service Responsibilities

  • Instruct students in the classroom and clinical settings.
  • Assist in the development and continuous evaluation of the didactic and clinical curriculum to ensure standards of medical knowledge are met and educational experiences are consistent across clinical rotation sites.
  • Assist in assessing student performance in both the classroom and clinical experiences.
  • Participate in college and university committees as assigned.
  • Maintain membership and active participation in state and national professional organizations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Successful completion of an accredited program of residency training in Psychiatry.
  • Current unencumbered Ohio License to practice medicine.
  • Board Certified in Psychiatry.
  • Current DEA license.
  • At least 5 years of experience teaching students or residents.
  • Experience in teaching in a university-based undergraduate or graduate medical education setting.
  • Experience coordinating the activity of and supervising clinicians.
  • At least 10 years of clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Physical Requirements: Must be able to utilize a phone, computer, and screen and other office equipment.
