Open Rank Breast Surgery
About the role
The Department of Surgery at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank Breast Surgical Oncologist to lead their multidisciplinary breast program. This individual will serve as Surgical Director of the Breast Center of the TGH Cancer Center.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in didactic education of multiple learners including residents, flows, and medical students.
- Supervise, mentor, and train surgical residents and fellows.
- Timely completion of all training courses required by hospital including a Code of Conduct course and coding courses.
- Inpatient and outpatient care of patients with breast disease, both benign and malignant.
- This role will require significant integration with a multidisciplinary team of individuals, including medical and radiation oncology faculty.
- Metrics for success will include clinical program development and quality indicators.
Qualifications
- Minimum: Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
- Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor.
- For Associate/Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
- Must have current, unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Florida or be eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of Florida.
- Candidate must be Board Certified in General Surgery or Board Eligible in General Surgery.
- Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required.
