Open Rank- Assistant Professor, Associate, Professor

Open-rank faculty position in Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (SFN) at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level. Full-time (1.0 FTE) role with teaching, clinical, research, and service responsibilities based at UCHealth Colorado Hospital on the Anschutz Campus in Aurora, Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the SFN team to build and cover the neurosurgical spine practice.
• Train residents in your SFN subspecialty and mentor the SFN Fellow on the latest neurosurgical procedures in spine.
• Conduct patient clinics (2 half-days per week) to evaluate cases and determine surgical suitability.
• Perform neurosurgical procedures (1–2 blocks per week) based on medical and surgical expertise.
• Collaborate with the SFN Team to meet quality metrics set by the Department of Neurosurgery.
• Develop and participate in clinical trials, positioning the team as a site for innovative research.
• Maintain current training, certifications, and licensing required for clinical practice.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery.
• Graduate of an American Board of Neurological Surgery residency program.
• Eligible for or maintains a Colorado State Medical License.

Qualifications by Rank

• Assistant Professor: Meets minimum requirements listed above.
• Associate Professor: Minimum requirements plus 7+ years of clinical experience in one or more of the following: minimally invasive spine surgery, complex spine surgery, spinal deformity surgery, and/or spinal oncology surgery (intra- and extradural).
• Professor: Minimum requirements plus 14+ years of clinical experience in one or more of the following: minimally invasive spine surgery, complex spine surgery, spinal deformity surgery, and/or spinal oncology surgery (intra- and extradural).

Preferred Qualifications

• Fellowship training in Spinal Neurosurgery and/or substantial experience in minimally invasive spine surgery, complex spine surgery, spinal deformity surgery, and/or spinal oncology surgery (intra- and extradural).

Skills

• Effective written and oral communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with physicians and staff at all levels.
• Demonstrated leadership and program-building capacity.

Pay

Hiring range by rank:

• Assistant Professor: $500,000 – $624,128
• Associate Professor: $612,728 – $720,857
• Professor: $682,828 – $758,698

Full-time (1.0 FTE), onsite role located in Aurora, Colorado.
