About the role

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full time (1.0FTE) open rank Assistant Professor - Professor in Cornea and External Diseases. This position will provide outpatient medical and surgical management of these specialties at UCH and potentially at one or more of our satellite locations in the Denver area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct outpatient medical and surgical management of cornea and external eye disease patients
  • Provide teaching and mentorship to students, residents, and fellows
  • Provide clinical and surgical supervision to residents and fellows
  • Clinician scientists are encouraged to apply

Work Location

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
  • Assistant Professor: Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology. Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible. Fellowship trained in cornea and external eye disease
  • Associate Professor: Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology. Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible. 3+ years of experience at an associate professor rank at an academic medical center (AMC) in cornea and external eye disease
  • Professor: Qualified candidates will be M.D. or D.O. trained and have completed an approved residency program in ophthalmology. Must be board certified or eligible and have a Colorado medical license or be eligible. 5+ years of experience at a professor rank at an AMC in cornea and external eye disease

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within a multidisciplinary environment between subspecialty ophthalmologists is preferred but not required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge and proficiency in medical and surgical management of ophthalmic diseases. Demonstrated interest in resident teaching and basic or clinical applied research.

Anticipated Pay Range

HIRING RANGE: Assistant Professor $250,000 to $500,000 Associate Professor $300,000 to $600,000 Professor $350,000 to $650,000
