About the role

The Recovery Center at Sarpy is a 16-bed facility serving residents 19+ diagnosed with a serious mental illness who are currently experiencing mental-health-related difficulties. As an LPN, you will provide recovery-focused services related to the safe and appropriate administration of medical treatment, including medications as prescribed by the physician.

Schedule

• Full-Time: 32 hours per week, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (with benefits)
• Part-Time: 24 hours per week (with benefits)
• Full-Time: 40 hours per week, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Shift differentials apply: 6% for PM shift, 10% for overnight shift. Weekend differentials: 5% for AM, 11% for PM, 15% for overnight.

Pay

Expected starting wage range for LPN: $26–$30 per hour, plus a 6% shift differential, bringing the total hourly rate to $27.56–$31.80. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Telecare’s mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday interactions.
• Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with members served.
• Provide nursing care and assist in welcoming, admission, and discharge processes.
• Collect data relevant to members’ care; develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Demonstrate knowledge of crisis management and intervention.
• Transcribe physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Administer medication and treatments to members served.
• Receive and present change-of-shift reports as assigned.
• Adhere to medication management policies and procedures.
• Notify the prescriber and nursing supervisor of any changes in behavior or condition.
• Document progress toward Recovery Plan goals.
• Attend and participate in community meetings and groups.
• Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and treatment planning.
• Coordinate and participate in counting medications and giving reports at shift changes.
• Attend CPI training and assist with de-escalation as needed.

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at management’s discretion.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited LPN program and current LPN licensure in the state of operation.
• Current CPR/BLS certificate.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid certification required within 60 days of employment and maintained throughout.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience with the population served and/or work in a similar program setting.
• One year of experience.
• Understanding of psychiatric illness, its treatment, and knowledge of psychotropic medications.

Skills

• Ability to review and implement Recovery/Treatment plans.
• Support medical and psycho-social care of members served.
• Administer oral and injectable medications.
• Act as a team member, report observations, and ask appropriate questions.
• Implement physical crisis and de-escalation techniques.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally required to sit, squat, kneel, twist, push, pull, and lift/carry items up to 25 pounds.
• Frequently required to walk, stand, bend, reach, and perform simple and power grasping.
• Manual dexterity, repetition, and hazardous exposure (bloodborne pathogens, hospital waste, chemicals, and infectious materials).
