On-Demand Campus Shuttle Driver

Slidr is an electric microtransit company that brings easy, on-demand rides to communities across North Carolina and Florida. In Salisbury, we operate CatawbaGO, the on-demand ride service for Catawba College. Students request rides through the app, and we pick them up and transport them in clean, all-electric vehicles. As a driver, you’ll never pay for gas or insurance, and you’ll never put miles on your own car.

About the role

We are hiring drivers for CatawbaGO in Salisbury. We’re looking for people who prioritize safety, enjoy interacting with others, and want to be a meaningful part of campus life. Our drivers are the face of Slidr—helping students get to class, run errands, and return safely, while offering a friendly and supportive presence they can rely on.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, reliable, on-demand rides around Catawba College and the Salisbury area
• Deliver friendly, high-quality service to every rider
• Use the driver app to accept ride requests and navigate the best routes for on-time arrivals
• Maintain a clean and safe vehicle throughout your shift
• Perform a quick vehicle check at the start of each shift and report any issues to the team
• Stay in communication with management and teammates about any on-road situations

A typical shift

• Start at the CatawbaGO hub where vehicles are parked and charged
• Log in to the driver app and complete the vehicle checklist
• Report any issues to the team for immediate support
• Clean the vehicle interior to ensure a pleasant ride experience
• Notify your team you’re ready, then begin accepting ride requests
• Access driver support anytime during your shift if needed
• At the end of the shift, return the vehicle, clean it, and plug it in to charge

Requirements

• Valid North Carolina driver’s license
• At least 22 years old
• 3+ years of licensed driving experience in the U.S.
• Clean driving record
• Comfortable driving while using a driver app
• Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in helping people
• Comfortable working with college students
• Able to pass a background check
• No CDL required
