About the role

The Shuttle Driver is a pivotal front-line position, ensuring a safe, energetic, and seamless transportation experience for all guests. Operating non-CDL resort vehicles, this role is responsible for greeting guests, managing local transit options, and navigating winter mountain routes while embodying the brand's signature "Positive Stay" spirit. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented individual with exceptional customer service skills and a strong passion for sharing local mountain knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Operation & Transportation Services: Safely operate resort passenger vans and shuttle vehicles to transport guests on scheduled routes and on-demand calls, navigating winter mountain weather and road conditions with extreme caution.
  • Coordinate, manage, and facilitate local transit options, shuttle services, and ride-shares for guests.
  • Conduct mandatory pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (checking fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, brakes, and emergency equipment); report any mechanical or safety concerns immediately.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, speed limits, defensive driving standards, and internal property safety policies at all times.
  • Guest Service & Hospitality: Warmly greet all guests, visitors, and returning explorers upon arrival and departure at the hotel entrance.
  • Open vehicle doors for arriving guests and seamlessly assist with unloading or loading luggage, ski equipment, and personal belongings.
  • Offer knowledgeable, friendly information regarding hotel amenities, local attractions, regional trails, ski resorts, and surrounding area points of interest.
  • Vehicle Upkeep & Administrative Duties: Maintain a clean, organized vehicle interior throughout the shift; clear snow, ice, and debris from exterior windows, mirrors, and steps before departure.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs of passenger counts, mileage, trip times, and incident reports as required by property operations.
  • Report any vehicle damage, accidents, or safety hazards immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Collaborate closely with the Front Desk and other departments to ensure a cohesive, unified guest experience.
  • General Support & Compliance: Anticipate guest needs and offer helpful, personalized solutions proactively.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest inquiries, escalating any service challenges to management when necessary.
  • Adhere to all company and brand safety protocols, security procedures, and operational standards.
  • Participate in scheduled training sessions and departmental meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Front Office leadership team or Director of Operations.

Qualifications

  • Licensing: Must possess a valid, clean driver's license and a strong driving record (no major moving violations or DUIs). No Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for this role.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a professional driving, customer service, valet, or bell role—preferably within a hotel, resort, or mountain hospitality environment is a plus. Experience driving in winter mountain conditions is highly preferred.
  • Local Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Deer Valley, Park City, regional trails, ski resorts, and seasonal outdoor activities.
  • Language: Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a valuable plus.

Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong familiarity with Deer Valley, Park City, regional trails, ski resorts, and seasonal outdoor activities.

Requirements

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on seasonal resort occupancy and peak operational hours.
  • Adherence to all safety protocols, security procedures, brand and uniform standards, and company policies.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, pull, push, bend, stoop, and lift outdoors in varying alpine weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver items weighing between 20–50 pounds regularly (including heavy luggage and sporting gear).
  • Manual dexterity to operate necessary property equipment and safely handle vehicles.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive health, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and other standard perks.
