On-Call Commuter Shuttle Driver

Location: Vacaville, California
Pay Rate: $28.50 per hour • Job Type: On-Call
Requirement: Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with passenger endorsement and current medical card required.
Responsibilities
- Drives shuttle bus and transports customers to and from the facility.
- Greets passengers and provides assistance with loading and unloading.
- Operates the shuttle bus in a safe and efficient manner and complies with all traffic and safety regulations.
- Monitors vehicle condition and records malfunctioning items or damage on appropriate forms.
- Communicates with dispatchers, drivers, and other employees using a two-way radio system to communicate routes, announce arrivals and delays, coordinate customer pick-ups, or handle other vehicle or customer issues.
- Conducts pre/post trip inspections of the shuttle buses at the beginning and end of shift to ensure sound operating conditions.
- Monitors traffic and weather conditions and notifies dispatch or supervisor of potential problems.
- Reports accidents or other safety situations to dispatch or supervisor.
- Treats all customers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
Requirements
- High school degree or GED equivalent.
- Must have possessed a valid Driver’s License for at least 5 years.
- Must currently possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B with passenger endorsement.
- Must be able to provide a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- One year experience driving shuttle bus or commercial vehicles preferred.
- Ability to operate a passenger van safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time, in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment depending upon customer volume, shift, season, etc.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Energetic, outgoing, and able to stand, run, and carry items up to 50 lbs if needed.
- Strong communication skills with a friendly, professional approach.
Skills
- Valet parking experience (1 year or more preferred).
- Customer service experience (1 year or more preferred).
