On-Call Substitute Teacher

About the role

The Family Partnership is seeking 4 On-Call Substitute Teachers to provide flexible, as-needed coverage for our early childhood program.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Support daily routines of children including arrival, meals, naps, transitions, and outdoor play.
• Follow lesson plans or direction provided by lead staff or administration.
• Engage children in age-appropriate, positive, and culturally responsive interactions.
• Follow all DHS licensing regulations and center policies.
• Maintain required staff-to-child ratios at all times.
• Implement health and safety practices, including handwashing and cleaning protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and staff.
• Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and flexibility.
• Communicate clearly with center leadership regarding availability and assignments.

Requirements

• Meet MN DHS background study clearance requirements.
• The ability to physically care for children, including lifting, bending, standing, and moving throughout the day.
• Flexible availability and ability to accept short notice assignments.

Qualifications

• Teacher's Aide: No formal education required and will work under supervision of qualified teaching staff.
• Assistant Teacher: Meet DHS requirements for assistant teacher qualifications.
• Lead Teacher: Meet DHS qualifications for teacher roles. Prior experience in a licensed childcare or early childhood education is preferred.

Skills

• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Pay

$18.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on qualifications and level of experience.

Schedule

This is an on-call, part-time position. The hours will vary depending on our early childhood program needs. Four Directions is open on weekdays from 7:00am-5:30pm.
