ON-CALL SNOW AND ICE OPERATOR – LABORER INDIANAPOLIS NORTH

What You’ll Do

• Remove snow using a shovel
• Remove snow using snow blowers
• Remove snow using heavy equipment, side by sides, etc.
• Apply salt to sidewalks and parking lots
• Participate in creating a safe work environment
• Adequately report any unsafe workplace behaviors to supervisors
• Adequately report any incidents or incomplete jobs to management

Requirements

• A minimum of 18 years old
• Enthusiastic and reliable
• 1+ years of residential and commercial ice and snow experience
• Demonstratable skills to operate snow blowers, side by sides, skid-steers, front end loaders, backhoes or equivalent heavy machinery with plows and snow containment boxes
• Work under pressure while observing safety guidelines
• Physically able to work outside, in wet, freezing weather conditions
• Able to lift 50 – 60 pounds without restriction
• Able to climb in and out of equipment
• Able to sit for long periods of time
• Able to safely operate all equipment
• Able to communicate effectively with supervisors, property managers, and dispatch
• Have proper winter weather attire to sustain freezing -20 temperatures up to 12 hours
• Have a drivers license and reliable transportation to and from sites along a route
• Able to comprehend and pass a safety course
• Able to pass a drug screen, background check, and E-Verify
