Position Summary
Essential Functions
- Safely & effectively operate a variety of computerized simulation & treatment machines.
- Maintains working knowledge of and adheres to all universal precautions and principles of radiation safety.
- Accurately records all treatment data in patient’s electronic medical record.
Working Conditions
- Normal office working conditions where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and the like.
- Low risk of exposure to radiation.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s Degree Required.
- Comprehensive knowledge of radiation therapy acquired through accredited radiation therapy program required.
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification in radiation therapy or registry eligible (must obtain certification within 6 months).
- Minimum of 1 year clinical work in a radiation therapy department.
- Previous experience in health care environment highly desirable.
- Must have or be able to obtain BLS certification.
- Excellent interpersonal skill to interact effectively with management, employees, peers and the general public.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, comprehend and complete complicated and detailed projects in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and work independently.
- High degree of integrity to keep confidential all information related to WMCC patients, employees, physicians, and institution related information.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally to waist-high level.
- Requires assisting patients up to 420 pounds utilizing safe lifting techniques & equipment provided.
- Requires sitting/standing for long period of time.
- Manual dexterity required to use computer keyboard or other office equipment.
- Excellent visual and auditory acuity necessary.
