Qualifications

  • JOB SPECIFIC CORE COMPETENCIES: Delivers appropriate radiation per treatment planning and collaborates with other healthcare staff ensuring a positive patient experience. Records and verifies radiation treatment. Assures radiation protection and safety standards. Assumes responsibility for the proper use of assigned equipment and applies troubleshooting skills and takes appropriate action as necessary.

    • Provides instructions to patient/families regarding cancer care, therapies and procedures.
    • Sets educational opportunities to improve knowledge/skill.
    • Participates in identifying or recommending areas for improvement.
    • Completes work in an efficient, timely manner that is conducive to team work and cost containment.
    • Communicates in a clear, concise and professional manner.
    • Provides patient care following the Patient's First Commitment.

  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: American Reg of Rad Techs (ARRT)
  • Additional Licensure/Credential Requirements:
    • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy.
    • ARRT Registered Technologist Radiation Therapist license in the state of Indiana in good standing.
    • BLS Healthcare Provider.
  • ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Mandatory Continuing Education: Customer Service, Fire and Safety, Corporate Compliance (including Confidentiality), Infection Control, and education required by regulatory, accreditation bodies, scope of practice, and/or Hancock Regional Hospital.
