On-Call Project Archaeologist (Remote)
About the role
ICF is currently seeking an On-Call Project Archaeologist to support the growth of our cultural resources practice in the Eastern U.S., especially on energy, transportation, and federal sector projects in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic. What You Will Do
- Detect and document archaeological sites through surveys, excavations, and analyses.
- Prepare technical reports and documents for regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with other specialists to develop and implement cultural resources management strategies.
- Contribute to project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
What You Must Have (Minimum Quals)
- A Master’s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology or related field.
- At least 3 years of professional, related experience.
- Meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Qualification Standards for Archaeology.
What We’d Like You To Have (Preferred Quals)
- Experience serving as Field Director on archaeological field studies.
- Familiarity with Southeast archaeology and other regions of the U.S.
- Knowledge of NEPA, NHPA, and other state and federal environmental regulations.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS and experience with various GPS equipment.
- Specialization in areas like historic archaeology, geoarchaeology, zooarchaeology, lithic analysis, or bioarchaeology.
- Experience working with Tribal representatives.
- Experience in project budget development, scheduling, and quality assurance.

Pay Range - Final pay for this position is determined based on relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications, and contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is: $55,665.00 - $114,503.00 Nationwide. Remote Office (US99).
