On Call- Medical Assisting Lab Technician (Applicant Pool)

Position Information

The On-Call Medical Assisting Lab Technician will be responsible for the maintenance of laboratories outside the functions of Information Services activities. This includes working with faculty and the administrative assistant to order and stock supplies for laboratories and setting up laboratories for class and for special events. This position will also inspect and facilitate the maintenance of the Health Science Center including processing and follow-up of work order repairs for instructional facilities.

Job Duties

• Prepare lab for planned student activities.
• Aid Instructor in with any needs before, during and after class.
• Clean up lab after student activities are complete.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of supplies for specialty area of the lab.
• Adhere to FERPA policy regarding student confidentiality.
• Comply with OSHA guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Required Qualifications

• A high school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to understand, troubleshoot, organize, and maintain the lab.
• Ability to communicate effectively by computer, orally, and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications

• An associates degree.
• Two (2) years of relevant experience.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly stand, use hands to handle or feel, talk or hear.
• Often reach with hands and arms, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs., seldom 50 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary

$20/hour
