On Call Hospice RN Nights

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to hospice patients during after-hours, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Respond promptly to patient calls, perform on-site visits as needed, and manage urgent patient needs.
• Assess and manage pain and other symptoms, providing comfort and relief to patients.
• Offer guidance and emotional support to families during challenging times.
• Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary hospice team, including physicians, social workers, and chaplains.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care and communication.
• Adhere to VNA Health Group's hospice best practices, ensuring compassionate and patient-centered care, effective communication, and continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a current NJ RN license.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of hospice or palliative care experience is preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills are required.
• The ability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled, is necessary.
• A reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance are required.

Pay

When determined, the compensation range for this position is USD $43.00 to USD $51.00.
