Key Responsibilities
- Aid in the provision of high-quality care within the scope of service consistent with accepted standards of care for dental assistants.
- Prepare each operatory and patient for treatment.
- Take and prepare radiographs using digital technology.
- Provide active chairside assistance to the Dentist and anticipate the provider’s needs.
- Assist the patient at the conclusion of care, clear the work site, and prepare for the next patient.
- Monitor the flow of laboratory cases.
- Monitor and record sterilization cycles and follow proper infection control protocols for the practice.
- Manage patient flow in clinic.
- Schedule dental appointments both in-person and over the telephone.
- Retrieve and forward messages from voicemail and fax/message inbox as necessary.
- Verify patient eligibility and receive patient payments such as co-pays, outstanding balances, guarantor payments, and assign them to the correct patient accounts.
- Manage incoming and outgoing patient documentation such as consents, treatment plans, patient referrals, ROI’s, medical clearances, lab and supply invoices, and scanning as needed.
- Assist Patient Access Coordinators as time allows.
- Ability to place topical medications.
- Ability to set up and prepare dental equipment and instrumentation in accordance with established regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to manage the dental office infection control plan to meet OSHA, CDC, and ADA standards.
- Maintain and expand current level of dental assistant skill and knowledge by periodically attending continuing education programs.

Required Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Radiation Safety certificate (X-ray license).
- Infection control course certificate.
Additional, But Not Required
- Coronal Polish certificate.
- Pit and Fissure Sealants certificate.
- Fluently speaks Spanish (highly desired).
