Dental Assistant I-II-III-IV (On-call)

About the role

La Clínica de La Raza is a community health center dedicated to providing comprehensive, culturally sensitive healthcare to the San Francisco Bay Area. We seek Dental Assistants who can work alongside dentists in four-handed dentistry, managing patient flow, preparing patients, and assisting with various dental procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow to maximize access and service.
• Prepare patients for dental examinations, taking and recording vital signs and medical/dental histories.
• Communicate requests from patients to the dentist or dental care team.
• Absorb and assist in a variety of treatment procedures.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain dental equipment and supplies.
• Provide oral hygiene instructions and post-treatment care instructions.
• Record treatment information in electronic dental records.
• Support the quality and efficiency of the clinic.
• Perform general office duties such as scheduling, registering patients, and handling insurance forms.
• Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• X-ray license.
• 1-2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Non-Licensed DA: Completion of a Dental Assistant Training Program preferred.
• Licensed DA: RDA, RDA-Extended Function, or RDA-Extended Function II certification.
