About the role
La Clínica de La Raza is a community health center dedicated to providing comprehensive, culturally sensitive healthcare to the San Francisco Bay Area. We seek Dental Assistants who can work alongside dentists in four-handed dentistry, managing patient flow, preparing patients, and assisting with various dental procedures.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient flow to maximize access and service.
- Prepare patients for dental examinations, taking and recording vital signs and medical/dental histories.
- Communicate requests from patients to the dentist or dental care team.
- Absorb and assist in a variety of treatment procedures.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain dental equipment and supplies.
- Provide oral hygiene instructions and post-treatment care instructions.
- Record treatment information in electronic dental records.
- Support the quality and efficiency of the clinic.
- Perform general office duties such as scheduling, registering patients, and handling insurance forms.
- Contribute to a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- X-ray license.
- 1-2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Non-Licensed DA: Completion of a Dental Assistant Training Program preferred.
- Licensed DA: RDA, RDA-Extended Function, or RDA-Extended Function II certification.
