Position Summary
Chartis is seeking an experienced OMOP Data Model Consultant to support healthcare data standardization initiatives using the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model (CDM). This individual will play a key role in transforming disparate clinical and administrative healthcare data into the OMOP CDM to enable advanced analytics, research, interoperability, and regulatory reporting. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience implementing or supporting the OMOP Common Data Model, understands healthcare data standards and vocabularies, and has experience working with large clinical datasets from EHRs, claims, registries, or other healthcare systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain healthcare data mapped to the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM).
- Analyze source healthcare data and develop ETL processes to transform data into OMOP-compliant structures.
- Map clinical, claims, laboratory, pharmacy, and administrative data to standardized vocabularies including: SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS.
- Validate data quality, completeness, and conformance using OMOP data quality tools.
- Collaborate with clinical, technical, analytics, and research teams to ensure accurate representation of healthcare data.
- Support observational research, real-world evidence (RWE), quality improvement, and population health initiatives.
- Troubleshoot mapping issues and optimize ETL processes.
- Develop technical documentation for data mappings, transformations, and implementation methodologies.
- Participate in data governance and standardization efforts across healthcare datasets.
- Stay current on OHDSI community updates, OMOP CDM releases, and healthcare interoperability standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, Data Science, Public Health, or related field.
- 3+ years of healthcare data engineering, data analytics, or healthcare informatics experience.
- Hands-on experience implementing or supporting the OMOP Common Data Model (CDM).
- Experience with healthcare databases, EHR data, claims data, or clinical registries.
- Strong SQL skills and experience querying large relational databases.
- Experience building ETL pipelines for healthcare data transformation.
- Knowledge of healthcare coding systems and clinical terminologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Pay
- Hourly range: $100-$125.
