Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Aid the Health and Fitness Manager with day-to-day department operations, communication, organization, and follow-through.
  • Support effective fitness programming and member services.
  • Aid with staff scheduling, shift coverage needs, desk coverage, and communication of schedule updates.
  • Aid with marketing needs for fitness programs, classes, challenges, special events, announcements, and department initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate department records, including participation statistics, KPIs, class attendance, program data, equipment maintenance tracking information, certification records, and other reports.
  • Aid in the development, organization, review, and updating of the Health and Fitness department SOPs, checklists, procedures, and operational documents.
  • Track staff certifications, including CPR, First Aid, fitness-related certifications, and required training.
  • Aid with ordering supplies, equipment, printed materials, program resources, and other department needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, staff, volunteers, and community partners.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in administration, fitness, recreation, scheduling, customer service, program support, or a related field in a fitness center or similar facility preferred.
  • Good communication skills including interpersonal skills.
  • English proficiency required; Spanish language skills preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage spreadsheets and data tracking and scheduling.
  • Flexibility and ability to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to collaborate and work within a team.
  • Attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
  • Strong independent judgement.
  • General computer knowledge is required, with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using web-based systems such as Sling, Canva, or similar platforms preferred.

Working Conditions

  • The majority of the workday will be in a mixed environment including offices, service counters, and other program spaces.
  • In addition, portions of the primary work facility may be considered humid (outdoor fields areas) while other locations (gymnasium and fitness studios) may be considered moderately loud in nature.
