Responsibilities
- Travel to job sites and complete fuel, oil, and greasing operations on equipment and vehicles.
- Complete daily DOT required information, truck inspections, and timecard.
- Travel to various locations around the Charlotte area in fuel truck provided by HEI Civil.
- Support direct supervisor and adhere to direction.
- Communicate with supervisor and job site foreman to maintain high efficiency of fueling operations.
- Work during hours directed by HEI Civil to keep our fleet running daily.
- Work independently or with fellow employees, contractors, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Works well independently and has a passion to learn.
- Good organization skills and follow through.
- Alert, focused, and detail oriented.
- Disciplined, dependable, accountable, and punctual.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic understanding of safe work practices.
- Basic understanding of Caterpillar and construction equipment, principles, and procedures.
- Valid and current Commercial Driver’s License.
- Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements (Fueler required).
Education and Experience
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: Driving on and off-road commercial vehicles on construction sites a plus.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Shop & Field Roles:
- Work performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, ranging from freezing temperatures to heat above 90°F, in both wet and dry conditions.
- Work may be performed in confined spaces.
- Exposure to odors, gases, dust, and dirt.
- Noise levels ranging from moderate to loud.
- Frequent lifting and carrying of 10-60 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Frequent overhead reaching and lifting.
- Majority of time spent standing, crawling, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Manual labor, including hand digging as needed.
- Some Saturday work is required; Sundays are rarely needed.
