Job Duties
- Highly responsible work in verbatim reporting of judicial proceedings at high rates of speed.
- Preparing verbatim transcripts as required.
- Maintaining electronic backup storage of proceedings.
- Keeping all exhibits in possession until otherwise requested by the court.
- Performing other administrative duties as assigned by the chief judge or designee.
- Reporting in accordance with procedures established by the district judges and chief clerk administrator.
- Reviewing completed reports for accuracy and content.
Required Education and Experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Formal training in machine shorthand or voice writing program.
- Experience with using computer equipment.
- No fear of technology.
- A Kansas Certified Court Reporter certificate (or eligibility to obtain a temporary certificate).
Benefits
- Grade 36, salary of $60,463.28 annually.
