Official Court Reporter - 28th Judicial District

Job Duties

  • Highly responsible work in verbatim reporting of judicial proceedings at high rates of speed.
  • Preparing verbatim transcripts as required.
  • Maintaining electronic backup storage of proceedings.
  • Keeping all exhibits in possession until otherwise requested by the court.
  • Performing other administrative duties as assigned by the chief judge or designee.
  • Reporting in accordance with procedures established by the district judges and chief clerk administrator.
  • Reviewing completed reports for accuracy and content.

Required Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Formal training in machine shorthand or voice writing program.
  • Experience with using computer equipment.
  • No fear of technology.
  • A Kansas Certified Court Reporter certificate (or eligibility to obtain a temporary certificate).

  • Grade 36, salary of $60,463.28 annually.
