About the role

Under general supervision, performs routine duties of a clerical nature within well-established parameters. Performs duties working from detailed guidelines on past practices but may be required to make decisions on prioritizing work. Duties may involve some clerical and administrative tasks, data entry where interpretation or validation of data is required, accounts payable, and simple bookkeeping. May draft routine correspondence and respond to routine inquiries for information. May research and compile information and maintain records on a database.

Responsibilities

  • Answer and route telephone calls to the appropriate staff members while providing excellent customer service.
  • Provide/assist with front desk coverage and assist employees and visitors with needs.
  • Manage 975-sick calls by documenting and preparing message forms for Employee Health nurses.
  • Process and distribute TB Screening Form Emails.
  • Create new employee accounts in Agility and merge duplicate accounts.
  • Scan and maintain immunization records and other employee health documentation in Agility.
  • Scan employee cards, Needle Stick Packets, and Observers records into App Enhancer.
  • Coordinate and perform annual N-95 Fit Testing for hospital staff and off-site locations such as:
    • TKC Clinic
    • Highlands Women and Infant Center
    • North Pavilion
    • UAB Hoover
    • Acton Rd. Clinic
    • Gardendale Clinic
  • Transport, set up, operate, and break down fit-testing equipment at multiple locations, beginning at 6:00am and ending at 5:00pm.
  • Enter and scan N-95 Fit Testing documentation into Agility.
  • Handle projects pertaining to flu season, including corresponding emails to all relevant parties.
  • Retrieve records release forms, print, and email records to employees who request them.
  • Make labels for cards and staple those cards with papers.
  • Order office and medical supplies through Lawson and restock medical supplies.
  • Send FMLA and ML documentation to the Leave Team for processing.
  • Assist with off-site flu clinics during flu season.
  • Prepare Flu and T-spot/TB cards upon departmental request.
  • Print flu elsewhere documentation during flu season.
  • Collaborate on special projects and provide operational support for Employee Health initiatives as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of related experience.

Pay

$18.16 per hour.

Schedule

  • Temporary position.
  • Day/1st shift.
  • Onsite.
