Office of Student Engagement and Leadership (OSEL) Manager

About the role

The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership (OSEL) Manager is responsible for coordinating, advising, and overseeing student organizations, leadership development, and operational functions that support student engagement.

Responsibilities

• Advising and providing support to student leaders and organizations through workshops, coaching, and structured training programs.
• Designing and delivering training programs, workshops, and educational initiatives.
• Overseeing front desk student employees, including hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Integrating administrative systems with student development practices, contributing to divisional initiatives, assessment efforts, and strategies that enhance student success, engagement, and belonging.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience advising student organizations and facilitating leadership development.
• Demonstrate understanding of student engagement, leadership development, and higher education administration.
• Ability to design and deliver training programs, workshops, and educational initiatives.
• Experience advising student organizations and supporting leadership development.
• Demonstrated experience supervising and managing student staff.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
• Advanced written and verbal communication abilities.
• Knowledge of fiscal management, university systems, and administrative best practices.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex policies and regulations in a university setting.
• Capacity for systems-level thinking, process improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate and influence across organizational levels.

Qualifications

Skills

• Proficiency in DocuSign, Campus Labs Engage, Microsoft Office Suite, SLATE, and web content management systems.
• Knowledge of higher education student programming.
• Masters in Higher Education or in pursuit of degree.
