About the Role

The Office Manager/Talent Generalist dual role serves as a champion of the Hylant culture. The incumbent is responsible for leading and directing administrative aspects of the assigned office/group, ensuring an effective and efficient office operation while adhering to Hylant policy, procedure, and core values. This role provides executive-level support to office leadership and HR generalist support to help manage the Columbus office, handling highly confidential information such as compensation changes, performance appraisals, and feedback/coaching. The role also serves as the office party planner and the first point of contact for visitors. This is a full-time, in-office position (five days a week) due to the nature of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or perform all office administrative responsibilities for the assigned group/location.
  • Set the cultural stage for the office and serve as the first point of contact for visitors.
  • Provide executive administration support to senior leadership, including managing calendars, coordinating travel, triaging emails, managing credit card transactions, and other executive-level tasks.
  • Serve as the location’s HR/Talent Generalist, managing highly confidential information such as compensation changes, performance appraisals, and feedback/coaching.
  • Assist with processing HR paperwork, coordinating on-site interviews, preparing new hire agendas, conducting first-day orientation, and ensuring a welcoming onboarding experience.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and communicate office events such as the Annual Meeting, Holiday Party, BAWWD awards, Service Awards, Office Picnic, new employee luncheons, Top Workplaces Survey, and other ad-hoc engagements.
  • Maintain the intranet space for the assigned group/location, ensuring current and relevant content is posted.
  • Develop and execute innovative ways to promote Hylant’s culture, fostering a fun, family-oriented, and community-minded environment.
  • Plan and coordinate internal and external events and meetings, including managing set-up, catering, equipment needs, and clean-up.
  • Provide administrative support to all employees, coordinate and lead projects, and address problems and concerns.
  • Manage and complete group/location charitable and sponsorship request processes.
  • Oversee or conduct new employee orientation to support a welcoming and engaging experience.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, communications, or a related field OR equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • A minimum of five years of related administrative work experience and/or human resources-related work experience.
  • Prior management or supervisory experience desired.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality about personnel, management, or business information and protect highly sensitive information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong prioritization, organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Ability and willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related functions.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
