About the role
Georgia Retina, one of the largest retina-only medical practices in the Southeast, continues to provide patients with the most advanced medical treatments available for retinal diseases and disorders. The Office Manager supervises and oversees all staff and clinical activities at the assigned office location, ensuring quality services are provided according to established policies and procedures. This role works in collaboration with practice physician(s) to manage templates and patient schedules.
Responsibilities
- Oversees training of front office staff at assigned location
- Works with Administration to coordinate physician scheduling changes, protocol changes, and staff communication
- Serves as local compliance officer for HIPAA, ensuring patient privacy is understood by all staff
- Coordinates all office calendars, holidays, and office celebrations
- Creates patient notices for schedule changes affecting practice hours
- Manages vendor relationships for offsite storage, janitorial, and other services
- Purchases supplies and equipment for the assigned office location
- Coaches and develops staff to provide service excellence in patient care
- Assists with implementing internal processes and procedures to improve efficiencies
- Attends monthly management meetings and required training sessions
- Contributes to team efforts by completing additional projects and tasks as needed
- Assists with interviewing potential candidates
- Serves as point of contact for initial disciplinary actions
- Manages patient schedules to align with doctor preferences
This position may require temporary training at the Macon-Lakeside Commons or Stockbridge office, with willingness to commute temporarily.
Requirements
- Prior clinic management experience strongly preferred
- 2+ years of healthcare-related experience, preferably in a multi-site environment
- Extensive knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals at all levels
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames
- Adaptability to frequent priority changes
