About the role

SRE Engineering is seeking an office engineer for a multi-phase DEP project that includes sludge treatment, odor control, and energy efficiency improvements, running through closeout in September 2028 in the Bronx, NY.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Tracking & Documentation (50%): Track all major equipment installations: pumps, motors, blowers, instrumentation, electrical gear, SCADA systems. Maintain equipment schedules with manufacturer info, model/serial numbers, installation dates. Coordinate equipment deliveries and verify against approved submittals. Track equipment tagging per DEP asset numbering standards. Document factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs). Maintain equipment cut sheets, O&M manuals, warranties, and test reports.

  • Submittal & RFI Coordination (30%): Track equipment submittals through the approval process with Jacobs and DEPCoordinate RFIs related to equipment conflicts, installation issues, or missing information. Maintain submittal logs and distribute approved documents to field teams. Support equipment-related change order documentation.

  • Closeout Documentation (20%): Organize all equipment documentation for DEP turnover requirements. Compile O&M manuals, spare parts lists, and warranty information. Support as-built coordination by verifying equipment data matches installed conditions. Prepare equipment asset registers for DEP's facility management system. Coordinate with BIM team to ensure equipment information in models is accurate. Support final punch list tracking for equipment commissioning.

Requirements

  • Required: 3-5 years construction administration experience (MEP, water/wastewater, or heavy civil preferred). Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large document sets. Experience with submittal/RFI processes and construction documentation. Proficiency in Excel, Word, and document management systems (Procore, e-Builder, PDMS, or similar). Ability to read drawings and equipment schedules. Understanding of construction closeout and commissioning requirements.

  • PREFERRED: NYC DEP or DDC project experience. Familiarity with water/wastewater treatment equipment. Experience with equipment commissioning processes. Bluebeam proficiency for document markup. Knowledge of M/WBE/DBE compliance and reporting.
