About the role
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Responsibilities
- Perform general office administration duties to include answering phones, processing paperwork, preparing and sending FedEx & UPS packages, ordering supplies and other similar duties
- Calculate payment amount, prepare and issue payment to commercial customers, ACH customers and third-party freight reconciliation
- Quote metal prices within a range supplied by management and/or verify correct pricing
- Assist with month-end closing documents and regular auditing of position related forms
- Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other employees as needed
- Greet and assist customers and visually inspect inbound material and verify specific grade
- Notify the yard quality control inspector when material does not comply with specifications and seek guidance
- Weigh, purchase and calculate payment for all purchase materials
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years' experience with general office duties (i.e., phones, customer service, ordering supplies)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service and handling multiple projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication, organization and time management skills
- Meet attendance schedule with dependability, consistency and willing to work outside in all weather conditions
- High School diploma or GED required; some college preferred
