Office Administrator
About the role
Our client, Missouri Slope Areawide United Way, a trusted nonprofit in the Bismarck/Mandan region, is seeking an experienced and organized Office Administrator to support staff, volunteers, donors, and community initiatives. This position coordinates day-to-day administrative and financial activities, manages key office processes, and ensures the organization has the tools and resources needed to advance its mission.
The Office Administrator serves as a key resource for staff, volunteers, and organizational leadership, helping ensure projects, initiatives, and daily operations stay on track. This role provides onboarding, training, guidance, and administrative support while coordinating fundraising activities, community events, donor engagement efforts, and office operations. The position also oversees financial and donor administration, regulatory reporting, and facility needs, helping create an organized, efficient, and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate day-to-day administrative and financial activities
- Manage key office processes and ensure organizational resources are available
- Provide onboarding, training, guidance, and administrative support to staff and volunteers
- Coordinate fundraising activities, community events, and donor engagement efforts
- Oversee financial and donor administration, regulatory reporting, and facility needs
- Support organizational leadership to keep projects and operations on track
Requirements
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in business, accounting, nonprofit administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three to five years of administrative, office management, bookkeeping, nonprofit, or accounting support experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and project coordination skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and database or CRM systems
- Experience with donor management, accounts payable and receivable, account reconciliations, and audit preparation is highly desirable
- Experience with Smartsheet or other nonprofit operations tools is a plus
- Proactive problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
